Home is Where the Country Club Is

One of the most important things that a TWT and SO can do is join a country club (CC). If you are new to an area or if you just want a place to feel relaxed and always welcomed, your country club (CC) should feel like your home away from home. It's important to look over the amenities of each club such as their golf course, tennis courts, restaurants, pools, fitness centers, and anything else that is a high priority for you and your SO. If you are on the board of a charity or if you head any philanthropy organizations, you should consider a CC with formal dining and meeting rooms. If you prefer not to join a gym, (who wants to use machines covered in somebody else's sweat anyway?) choose a club that offers personal trainers within their fitness facility. Another perk of a CC is their concierge services that include booking VIP tickets to concerts and events and making nearly impossible dinner reservations whenever you need them. Certain CC's also make you a part of an exclusive circle of societies nationwide when you travel. If you belong one one of these CC's, you have certain privileges to other affiliated CC's in many cities around the country. This means that you are treated to the same personalized service that you are at your "Home Club."

If you are having a hard time finding that perfect CC that fits your needs and expectations, search the best CC's in the country on http://www.clubcorp.com/. They have a wide variety of clubs to choose from, and an interactive website complete with their own service called "ClubLine" which is your own personal concierge service via their website.

Once you have found the perfect CC, what better way to spend a beautiful summer day then a private tennis lesson, dip in the infinity pool, and mimosa's? Better start that search now...

Jet Set in Style in "Your" PJ

If owning your own PJ (private jet) isn't part of your budget right now (or if you simply don't have the room for a private hanger,) don't despair. Much like a time share, or a "shared property," FlexJet offers a "fractional jet ownership." You get to choose what type of jet you would like to use for each trip that you take, making it simple if it's a shopping trip with just you and one girlfriend, or if it's a larger party that needs accomodating. The choices include a Bombardier Learjet40XR, Bombardier Learjet 45XR, Bombardier Learjet 60, Bombardier Challenger 300, or a Bombardier Challenger 604. If you're undecided on which PJ to take, you can take a photo tour of each one on the FlexJet website.
According to Bob Knebel, Vice President of Sales for FlexJet, "Flexjet owners can schedule up to five jets on a single day, which comes in handy for special events and meetings. The company's Versatility Plus program allows owners to pool their unused hours, so if you need extra hours you can buy some, and if you have hours to spare you can get money back. And the company recently offered owners 15 percent off on round trips of one to two days. "This program was developed as a response to owner feedback for more affordable short-haul travel, and can save travelers thousands of dollars on each trip."

And because you're being practical and saving money on not buying a PJ, you can splurge a little on a gorgeous Frette Merino Wool and Cashmere "Jet Set Throw/Cushion Set" $395. (above)

Modern Day Titanic...Minus The Wreck...

If you're a TWT who loves to travel (you know, see other cultures, buy exotic fashion, and lay on beaches around the world) but hates the maintainence of owning your own yacht (we all know just how time consuming it is to hire a dependable crew...) then The World is for you. My SO had the honor of meeting the CEO (as well as former CFO of the World, and President of the Disney Cruise Line) of The World Cruise Ship. With 165 private residences onboard, some residents live on the boat full time, but for most, it is simply a part time home. The is ship similar to most upscale communities, complete with a full service spa, six upscale restaurants, an entire area devoted to golf practicing and programs, state of the art fitness center complete with personal training, a Graff Jewelery store, and a movie cinema. Everything on the ship is customized to your liking, from the color scheme of your sofas, to the meal that you desire most often. The World truly does travel all of the world, from exclusive islands in Russia not open to the public, to pirate ridden waters of Somalia (but don't worry, The World is the safest floating vessel around.) The World is a perfect place to buy a custom designed condo for those TWT's who desire to see the world from the comfort of their own townhome. However, if a condo within this heavenly luxurious yacht isn't part of your budget just yet, rentals are available. If you can part with the cars and PJ's for a few weeks to months out of the year, it's a great convo starter at your next charity auction "Well only last week I was in Bali...it's funny that you mention it..."

Some Resort Essentials...

Is SO taking you out of the cold in the next few weeks for some sunny beach respite? Winter can be a dangerous time for us TWT's, whether or not your realize it. It has been proven that women gain weight in the wintertime, lose their tan, have less "intimate contact," and are more moody. These are all things that we need to avoid at all costs...because what SO wants a TWT who is grumpy, pale, overweight, and says no to anything sexual "just because?" It is the perfect time of year to take that exotic vacation with your SO, the warmer destination the better. Calypso St Barth is one of my favorite resort clothing shops and here are some of my favorite pieces this season. Remember, just because it's a vacation doesn't mean that you can look sloppy...in fact, resort looks are one of the most important styles for a TWT to be able to pull off. It's quite simple actually...if you look effortlessly fabulous, SO will want to whisk you away to exotic locations all the time....and that's good for both of you

Sima Tunic $195

Antoine Jumpsuit $135

Shireen Dress $165

Candice Tunic $135

Striped Scarf $95

Ling Disc Necklace Gold $245

How Does She Do That?

Any old maid can invite guests over for dinner, serve them well, and bit them adieu happy and well fed. But it's a TWT's job to leave them mesmerized and muttering "I had no idea that ___'s wife was such a good cook! We simply must visit again soon." If you are feeling especially confident in your recipes and are well practiced in the art of the dinner party, then it's time to drop in a bit of something special; literally. Aftelier Perfumes, created by "recognized perfume authority" Mandy Aftel, is the creator of such fascinating products like "Chef Essential Oils," essential oils meant to be infused in homemade dishes. The delicious flavors/scents include: sweet basil. bergamot, celery seed, cinnamon, coffee, cognac, fresh ginger, pink grapefruit, geranium, coriander leaf, lime, bitter orange, juniper berry, wild sweet orange, black pepper, pink pepper, peppermint, spearmint, terragon, and many more to fit your taste. According to the directions,
"Start with a drop, then taste to see how many more drops to add. First, dilute the essence in a small amount of the liquid you want to season -- butter, oil, sauce, vinaigrette, soup, stew, etc. -- then add the seasoned liquid back into the larger amount. Chef's essences should be added as close to the end of cooking as possible, to preserve the volatile components of their scent."
Think of these flavor oils like they are little pieces of diamond jewlery; something that adds a touch of sparkle to an otherwise boring outfit.

An Organization for PSW TWT's

If you are a TWT training to be a PSW, (professional sports wife) then there is an organization that you simply must join!
The Professional Sports Wives Association, Inc. (PSWA) is a not-for-profit association of wives of active and retired professional athletes and coaches that includes members representing each professional sport, including the following:

-National Football League (NFL)
-Major League Baseball (MLB) and its affiliate minor league baseball
-National Basketball Association (NBA)
-National Hockey League (NHL)
-Professional Golf Association (PGA)
-National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR)
-Professional Bowlers Association (PBA)
-Major League Soccer (MLS), among others.

They also sponsor all kinds of charities, doing what every good TWT and TW does best...raising money for causes that we believe in (and if your SO is a professional in the sports industry, there is no better reason to use his fame...)
